I’m a producer, composer, and multi-instrumentalist based in Nashville.
I’ve had the honor of working with some of my musical heroes, including Keb’ Mo’. We co-wrote “Moonlight, Mistletoe, and You,” the title cut on his 2019 holiday album, which spent four weeks at #1 on the Billboard Blues Album chart. I’ve also written songs with great folks like Trent Dabbs, Ross Golan (my friend since grade school), Natalie Hemby, Will Hoge, Jim Lauderdale, and Maren Morris.
I have toured and recorded with Will Hoge, Kacey Musgraves, and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee, John Oates—playing pedal steel, lap steel, Dobro, and guitar—and played on recordings by Ruby Amanfu, Madi Diaz, Russel Dickerson, J.D. McPherson, Brittney Spencer, Carrie Underwood, and Faye Webster.
Some of the fun shows I’ve played include the Country Music Association Awards, CMT Crossroads, the Grammys, the Grand Ole Opry, the Late Show with David Letterman, Jimmy Kimmel Live!, and The Tonight Show (both Leno and Fallon). And—pinch me—I got to do all that with folks like Vince Gill, Loretta Lynn, NEEDTOBREATHE, Willie Nelson, Katy Perry, and Lee Ann Womack. I’ve also backed up Rayland Baxter, Old Dominion, Natalie Hemby, Drew Holcomb & The Neighbors, Ashley Monroe, Natalie Prass, Shinedown (on trombone, oddly), Brad Tursi, Faye Webster, and Charlie Worsham.
I grew up on Chicago’s North Side and had the good fortune to attend Princeton University, Berklee College of Music, and the Free University of Berlin. When I’m not in the studio, you’ll find me at the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum, where I lead youth artist development programs.
I use D’Addario strings and equipment made by L.R. Baggs, XAct Tone Solutions, Strymon Engineering, Empress Effects, JHS Pedals, and db Instrument Amp.
